Chanta? You mean Cantha right?
Uhh...you want to be at least level 15, since Factions is faster pace and thus you meet level 20s sooner. |

Big land? It's the smallest of the 3 maps.
Anyways, I was level 17 when I got to the mainland, but all the run from point a to b to a for 3k xp got me to level 20 in no time. |

If you do absolutely everything that can be done on Shing Jea Island, you should be somewhere in the level 17-20 bracket by the time you reach the Canthan mainland. You should also try to aim to be level 20 before you attempt the first mission on the mainland (Vizunah Square), so if your level's on the low side go back and do some more quests and kill some more monsters (which will also earn you some extra cash for your max armor on the mainland).

For future characters in Factions I suggest doing All quests exhaust everything before moving on.
Then you will be lvl 17 or 18 before hitting Kaining Center and also are more likely to have the resources to buy the max level armour they sell there. It may seem obvious to some but do all the secondary quests Just because you want to be Warrior/Monk is no reason not to try out all the secondaries first just for the XP. As they have said its faster paced and the city is hard esp for a 12th lvl character. Have fun though its a strategy/rpg not a race |

I took a Tyrian Character there at lvl 6 and Did all the Kaineng Center and Marketplace Quests with henchmen. They all give about 3000 XP. He was lvl 19 in about 3 hrs. Just keep your distance from the !!ZOMG 'sploding!! enemies and you'll be fine.

think most of mine were 17, but then again I made sure to be a higher level before I left and killed tons of yetis and dragon lilies before I left (on my rit it was more of just learning the skills on lower level enemies-- I find it easier).
But yeah there are lots of quests to do to get you up to the upper teens in level. |

I don't understand how people get off Shing Jea at such low levels.
There are plenty of ways to get xp on the island. |

Regardless, I would suggest going out w/ henchmen since they're level 20, and you can let them do all the work until you get some levels under your belt... |
